The real treasure offered by mindfulness and its most amazing gift - is that mindfulness provides us with the opportunity to respond, rather than simply react.

What is it about horses that makes them so magnetic?

Our Escape To Sierrah Acres program has everything to offer in the way of an interesting and enjoyable get-away in a relaxed, friendly and safe environment. This fully facilitated outdoor activity is intended for groups from 2-9 participants to sample a unique learning experience, involving the wonderful world of horses.

During our initial conversation and information gathering process, we’ll go over your goals and expectations for what might even feel like a mini retreat. Our aim is to create the right fit for your group.

When prey meets predator!

Horses live in the present moment one hundred percent of the time and have an extraordinary way of capturing our minds and bringing us along with them.

You’ll learn about horses on a deeper level, physically, mentally and emotionally. We’ll answer some questions and perhaps clarify some of the myths surrounding this magnificent species.

Observing the horses in their world and how they interact, communicate, and respond to stimuli will not only prove to be captivating, but is likely to leave you with a few takeaways of your own.

A guided tour, fully facilitated and co-created. Equine-assisted-exercises are not included. Inquire about a variety of possible add-on activities to support the personalization of your group’s experience. No experience with horses is required.

The Women and Children’s Shelter has recently received services for children living in the shelter through Sierrah Acres Equine Assisted Learning and Personal Development Programs. Cindy, the owner and program facilitator, uses an empathetic and gentle approach that assist children to create a bond of friendship and trust with the horses. The bond of mutual respect between child and horse helps the children face internal fears and find their voice to speak up and express their needs. Moms have described seeing differences in their children’s sense of trust, self-confidence and self-esteem, “I have seen my daughter really open up about her feelings since she started coming here (Sierrah Acres)”. Children have also expressed new self-awareness, “When I first came to the shelter, I didn’t trust anyone. But being with the horses I learned that there are some people that I think I can trust” - from a 10-year-old child. Thank you, Cindy, for your amazing service to our children.
