You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.
Oh the places you’ll go!

Join us for a unique and positive experience that you won't soon forget.

Our individual youth sessions and programs are designed for young people ages 8-18 to experience the wonderful world of horses and all they have to offer in a fun and unique way. Through an enjoyable and creative method, our focus is to present to the individuals all the positive takeaways that are gained through spending time interacting with and learning about horses.

Since horses are prey animals, they bear the contrast of being both magnificent in their size and extremely sensitive to their environment. Horses will always give honest, immediate, non-judgmental feedback through their body language. By pointing out these subtle metaphors, participants will learn about themselves, feel good about their individuality and accomplishments, have fun and develop practical life skills in a unique way.

Individual Sessions are offered as a single visit, occassional repeats, or a series of consecutive sessions.
Occassional sessions are a great way to plan an escape, both physically and mentally, in a natural and peaceful setting. A series of sessions typically runs anywhere from 4-8 consecutive weeks and is created for the needs of the individual built onto from their previous visits. Whichever format you choose, all sessions are pre-planned and personalized keeping your goals and comfort level at the forefront. Contact us today to begin the registration and intake process.

My daughter attended Sierrah Acres for a week of youth camp in August 2016. I found out about Cindy’s wonderful camp through a brochure that was in my daughter’s therapist’s office. My 11-year old daughter has issues with low self-esteem and anxiety. What a wonderful experience this camp was for her.

The kids learned how important communication and expressing their feelings was through using Cindy’s amazing calm and safe horses as examples. They learned that although horses don’t “speak”, they communicate with each other and us through body language and expressions, and how important this communication was in knowing what the horses were thinking and feeling. The kids were challenged with what aspect of being around the horses would be the most uncomfortable for them – whether it be touching, leading, riding or feeding them. Over the course of the week they set personal goals and milestones and Cindy gently guided them towards each success, while encouraging them to discuss their feelings and instilled pride and confidence for each successful step towards their individual goals.

My daughter learned to set goals, challenge herself and be proud of her accomplishments every step of the way. Another important part of the camp was listening to other children’s challenges and supporting them while they met their personal goals and milestones. The camp also included nature walks, bonfires, crafts, visiting a neighbouring farm with miniature animals and learning responsibility in caring for the animals.

I cannot express enough what a positive experience this was for my daughter. She gained emotional strength and confidence through learning that other children also have challenges and fears, and in helping not only herself but others to achieve their goals. I have asked Cindy to let me know of any and all activities and camps that my daughter can attend. She had a wonderful time at the camp, talks about it non-stop and asks when she can go back! I wholeheartedly recommend Sierrah Acres and please feel free to use my name and give my email to anyone wanting a reference for the amazing work that you do – I can’t thank you enough and look forward to future activities for my daughter!
